King Abdullah Cultural Hall at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission
Saudi Arabia has a rich history in the Arabian Peninsula and multiple cultures. In each part of the country, there is a unique and distinctive culture for that region. For instance, the west coast has the two holly Muslim Mosques in Makkah and Madinah and other holy places, and in the middle of the country, there is a Najdi culture where is the capital of the Saudi is Riyadh, and so on in the east, north, and south of the country. The Saudi Arabia Cultural Mission in the US has a small museum in Fairfax VA, presenting the story of those great cultures of Saudi Arabia and its history. I had a great time doing a tour there last week and made this tour video about the museum in King Abdullah Cultural Hall. The Hall organized into two parts:
- Ancient Side.
- Modern Side.

Ancient side:
Horse Statue that displays:
1. The history of the Arabian horse
2. The meaning of the Saudi Arabian Flag
3. A summary about King Abdulaziz and his unifying of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Pictures of Saudi Kings starting from King Abdulaziz all the way to King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
- Example of the old Saudi salon which is called (Majlis).
- Saudi traditional clothing for both males and females. (Thoub) and (Jalabia).
- Swords and Daggers with the inclusion of how they are made as well as their use then and now.
- Gold and other jewelry with the explanation of the history of the different metals
- Statue of an Eagle as a symbol for sports as well as its connection with authentic Arab culture.
- An incense burner that showcases the importance of incense and incense burners.
- A photo-wall that displays crafts that are made by hand
Modern Side:
- A digital interactive table that includes over one hundred subjects on Saudi Arabia. This interactive table includes many different subjects that will allow the visitor to imagine the topics through 3d simulations.
- Hajj Diorama: This is a 3d hajj model that allows the visitor to experience hajj by visually walking through the model and viewing the cloth of the Kaaba. Voice over by the famous actor Mr. Morgan Freeman.
- Diorama of the Two Holy Mosques: A 3d model from the Ministry of Higher Education that highlights the expansion that has occurred around the Two Holy Mosques to accommodate the growing number of visitors that visit every year.
- The tour of the cultural hall concludes with the visitor viewing a hologram done by two students that talk about how the King Abdullah Scholarship Program has impacted their lives.
